Joe Cornish returns

Joe last visited Chelmsford in 2012. He now works with digital equipment, and this has brought a quiet revolution in approach which has affected his photography in important and subtle ways.

So much has changed, and Joe will tackle the topics that have become pre-eminent for him in photography, landscape and nature since then.

In the last ten years he has had opportunities to work in the polar regions, in the United States, Antipodes, India and Iceland. But by far the majority of his professional and personal work is made in the UK, especially since March 2020.

Printing plays an important part of his photographic practice. Joe will discuss this, and bring examples of printed work.

Although now in his mid-sixties, he continues to fulfil professional commissions including recent books on landscape designers Capability Brown, and Humphry Repton. He leads a gallery business in Northallerton that presents the work of eminent landscape photographers, and also enjoys leading tours and workshops. Joe is currently Chair of the RPS landscape distinction panel.

In 2022 he has two major exhibitions. Still Time to Wonder is at Fountains Abbey World Heritage Site (NT). Woodland Sanctuary is a collaboration with fellow photographer Simon Baxter at Danby (North York Moors) Visitor Centre Inspired By gallery.
