New Season, New Venue, New Day

 
For the new 2021/22 season the club is moving to Broomfield Football Club. We are also changing our meeting day from Wednesday to Thursday.
 
 

Summer Programme 2021

 

June 9th - Joe Houghton - 'My Journey in Street Photography'. In this talk Joe takes a walk through his personal journey discovering Street Photography, discusses craft, kit and influences, and the creation of his book "Streets of Dublin". Liberally illustrated throughout with images from his "Streets of Dublin" collection, which can be seen here.

June 23rd - Harry Wheeler-Brand ("HarryBehindTheLens") - 'The Three Coasts' He is a Lee Filters Ambassador and gives lectures for them. He is based in Suffolk and this talk covers coastal landscapes of East Anglia. Harry's website.

July 7th - Ashley Franklin - 'From Pursuit to Passion to Profession' covers his transition from amateur snapper to professional photographer. Colin has seen some very good reviews of this and he sounds like a really good presenter. Ashley's website.

28th July 7pm - Photoshoot at Heybridge Basin and The Old Ship pub
18th August 7pm - Photoshoot at Old Leigh and The Crooked Billet pub

 
 

The Club

 
You don't have to be an 'Expert Photographer' to be welcomed as a member of Chelmsford Camera Club. All you need is an interest in photography. The Club meets weekly from September until May with a varied programme of competitions, photographic talks and demonstrations, member participation evenings and social events.

The themes for our Themed competitions will be:
Print: "Open Mono", “Speed”, “Tools of the Trade”
PDI: “Night”, “Food”, “Forms in Nature”

 
 

Competitions

 
Are held throughout the season. We hold league competitions for Prints and Projected Digital Images (PDI). There is also the annual Burley Cup for a Panel of 3 Prints, also the Cyril Chorley Memorial Trophy for a panel of 6 Prints. We also have a Themed competition for prints and also for PDI. Finally we hold an annual Audio Visual (AV) competition.
